Simple Grace
The Message of Jesus found in Paul’s Letter to the Galatians Church
Right, wrong, do’s, don’t, for, against, obey, avoid, pray, confess, do it right. Does it seem that Christianity, or for that matter any religion or spirituality, seems complicated with rules and obligations? Why would anyone want to submit their lives and give up their freedoms to try to perform to that level? Shouldn’t it be simple?
Yes. And that is the essence of the message of Jesus. A simple, loving, life-transforming relationship that brings freedom like never before. A message of Simple Grace.
Nearly 2000 years ago, the Apostle Paul, one of the leaders of Jesus’ movement called the Church, wrote a short letter to a church in Turkey in the ancient region of Galatia. There, Jesus’ followers were struggling with knowing what simple grace was all about. Was it following rules and laws, do’s and don’t, tradition and liturgy, or was it about a loving relationship that relied upon a faith in who Jesus was? We are going to take seven weeks to explore this amazing letter and see the power of simple grace in its words.
